George Klinestever
George was an active firefighter in his younger years. He served as president for 12 years. Under Goerge's tenure, there were many significant accomplishments. In 1994, he appointed a Long-Range planning Committee. This Committee provided a needs assessment of the Company as well as a blueprint for accomlpishing this objective. In 1996 we took delivery of our Simon Duplex/ Saulsbury Rescue unit. While the new rescue was being constructed, we demolished an apartment unit and constructed our new state-of-the-art engine room. George appointed a committee to make the rescue housing and building dedication a memorable event, and it was. In 1996, George appointed a committee to revise the Company Constitution and By-Laws. This was the first revision since 1977. George's most meaningful contribution though has been his unwavering commitment to our Bingo program. He has called literally thousands of Bingo programs. He was here from the start, over 35 years ago. George and another of our great members, Pete Herman, started the Bingo program many years ago. It has provided this organization the resources to operate day-to-day activities and to purchase numerous pieces of rescue and fire apparatus: including first class rescue units in 1977 and 1996 and state-of-the-art fire engines in 1971 and in 2002.
